Design Practice Location:
This new space connecting London’s Pall Mall and St James’s Street allows wine connoisseurs access to 1,300 wines and spirits. For an open and welcoming environment, the shopfront has been widened and retail space has been designed with central tills and the traditional barrier removed. The main focal point is the suspended ceiling made from deconstructed wine barrels over 100 years old. The joinery and doors throughout are bespoke, handcrafted and all beautifully finished with a stain or hand-painted bronze finish. The wall units and gondolas allow for each bottle to be housed separately, emphasised by the routed borders lining the edges of each cell and the high quality of the stained-oak finish. The entire team helped to create an expanded store, with upgraded cellars and have restored the original consultation rooms.
