Design Practice Location:
The land of the ancient Shu Kingdom is a land abundant in natural and cultural resources. In this project, history and cultural context merge with the idea of comfortable, elegant living, resulting in a portrait of the perfect Chinese contemporary lifestyle. In accordance with the traditional family need for three generations to live together, the house is divided into dynamic and static areas. The design aims to get in touch with the spirit of Chinese literature through graceful design details such as those in the living room and on the walls of the bedrooms, through the auspicious views, and through the choice of decorative accessories. In this apartment, the beauty of landscape, of space, of environment and of materiality all converge to bring to mind the traditional aesthetic belief that ‘intentionality is superior to form, and intentionality is obtained by forgetting form’ in a contemporary setting.
