Design Practice Location:
The main space in this house is a living room combined with a dining room and kitchen which occupies the largest part of the first floor. There are some unusual elements at play: at first, transparent walls (glazed from floor-to-ceiling) allow nature to flow into the house. Sliding glass partitions allow residents to access the open terrace and go further in a green inner yard, which leads to a wood of pine trees. Secondly, there’s the absence of a television. Instead, the focus in the living room is around the fireplace with its real fire. This creates a central focus and warmth, and with it a feeling of this being a real home.
