Design Practice Location:
The Chinese Bathroom comprises a powder room and guest bathroom on the ground floor of the property. For the concept the designer suggested taking inspiration from Chinese culture in order to create a diversity of styles – in addition the client has a fondness for Chinese art and Tibetan culture. As you enter the space you are greeted by a magnificent pair of 18th-century directoire console tables that lead to the powder room. The design revolved around warm yet vivid red and earthly colors while introducing indirect LED lights with subtle reflections and shades. Orange glass mosaics were used to enrich the overall experience while black granite sinks were carved and mounted in both the powder area and bathroom. The pièce de résistance is an ancient wooden panel with a dragon carving that the designer transformed into a mirror while an antique Tibetan-style prayer shrine adds further beauty. The result is a mystical ambiance, with magnificent Eastern essence.
