Design Practice Location:
After an extensive renovation and conversion from the Visconti Palace Hotel, the 240-room Le Méridien Visconti Rome has revealed an illuminating and fully restyled interiors. Harry Gregory, Head Designer of London based ara Design International transformed the public areas, guestrooms and suites. A classical style with understated, geometrical references to Rome’s fabled treasures including the Pantheon was evoked, as well as a nod to the 1970s, the decade when the original hotel was built. From the lighting to the furniture, the interior design is a contemporary realisation of mid-century modernism. Sleek lines with both organic and geometric forms create an aesthetic contrast of different materials, transcending time.
