Design Practice Location:
The Kigali Convention Complex opened in 2016 in the capital of Rwanda, in Central Africa. The concept was the creation of a multifunctional space that would play host to regional and international events such as conferences, exhibitions, festivals and cultural events. One element of this complex is the five-star Radisson Blu Hotel. The hotel has a total of 280 rooms and several large public areas such as restaurants, bars and lounges as well as a spa and spa area. The design centres around country-specific and local structures as well as colour intensities and combines modern design with African quotations. For this project, Bost Interior Design was inspired traditional and contemporary regional elements of the art, culture and lifestyle of the region. Materials such as African wood, regional crafts, fabric and colours from the landscape were used in different ways. Local and national were commissioned to create artistic work for the space.
