Woods Bagot was charged as Executive Architect with renovating the prestigious Sheraton Grand London Park Lane Hotel to return it to its original splendour. Having originally opened in 1927 at the height of the Roaring Twenties, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane Hotel relaunched in 2016 after undergoing a complete transformation. The concept, design by MKV Design, included designing new entrances, as well as modernising the hotel’s restaurants, executive lounge and guest rooms. In addition, the Palm Court – one of the hotel’s most celebrated original rooms – was also carefully restored to its original elegance and Art Deco glamour. The room design incorporated a new layout, with seating along the centre of the space and circulation at the perimeter to ensure easier guest flow and new stone floorings and central carpeted area for a raised dais beneath the roof light.
