Hamad Medical Corporation PET CT Center for Diagnosis & Research, One of the first dedicated molecular imaging facility of its kind in the region, utilizing the latest globally available PET.CT technology. Continuing the Architecture Booming in architecture, infrastructure, and technology projects . New PET CT Center in Qatar sets a new benchmark for healthcare – through a comprehensive concept that ranges from the latest diagnostic capabilities of CT and PET/CT to one of the first cyclotron in Qatar and considered as the newest member in Hamad Medical Buildings family. This revolutionary diagnostic technology enabling physicians to achieve a new level of sensitivity in imaging with regard to assessing patient risk. MC PET CT is in-House design project designed and managed by Health and Facility Department and linked to Al Amal Hospital through a bridge in first floor.

The procedure requires a dedicated on-site cyclotron capable of producing nitrogen isotopes, along with a state-of-the-art 64-slice PET.CT scanner and advanced analysis software. The new technology is safer than older techniques in terms of radiation exposure, but delivers higher quality images. Patients throughout the region who currently have to travel abroad for this kind of procedure will soon be able to benefit from the very latest international technological advances without leaving Qatar, the Building construction Period was one year and opened by May 2012. The PET CT Center received the Cityscape Award 2012 for the best building in Public Sector and also received the Hospital Build Award 2013 for the best hospital design in the middle east.
