Unfortunately, this year’s edition of the SBID Awards ceremony has been cancelled to ensure the health and safety of the design community during this time. The SBID Awards Winners for 2020 will be announced online from 4pm on 23rd October 2020. Visit @SBIDAwards to watch live!

How much does it cost to enter? 

SBID Members

SBID members are eligible to enter up to 1* project free of charge. A one-off £50 (+ VAT) admin charge is applicable. This fee is per entrant not per submission. *NB: Depending on level of SBID membership

Non-SBID Members

For non-members, a fee of £195 (+ VAT) applies per submission. A one-off £50 (+ VAT) admin charge is applicable to all entrants, this fee is per entrant not per submission. One project can be entered into multiple categories but will be charged per submission (i.e. Project A can be submitted into the Retail and Public Space category, totalling a fee of £440).

1 entry = £195 + £50 = £245

2 entries = £195 + £195 + £50 = £440

3 entries = £195 + £195 + £195 + £50 = £635

4 entries = £195 + £195 + £195 + £195 + £50 = £830

Deadline

The deadline for entering the SBID International Design Awards 2020 is Friday 14 August 2020. Click here to subscribe for all updates and announcements.

Judging

A panel of judges, representing a broad range of design skills and connections, will choose the winning entries which will account for 70% of the overall score. Judges’ decisions are final and confidential.

There will also be an opportunity for the public to vote on their favourite designs which will account for the remaining 30% of the overall score. The public voting will open on Tuesday 1 September and close on Wednesday 30 September.

Announcing the Winner

Finalists will be announced on 1 September 2020.

Ceremonies

The winners will be announced and presented with their trophies at the SBID Awards ceremony hosted at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Friday 23 October 2020.

Finalists, sponsors, judges and VIPs are invited to an exclusive afternoon tea networking event at the House of Lords, Palaces of Westminster* on Wednesday 21 October 2020.

Finalists are also invited to attend the SBID Meet the Buyer*, a one-day networking event for interior designers to meet face to face with the best manufacturers and suppliers in the industry held at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Thursday 22nd October.

*These are invitation-only events, tickets cannot be purchased and are subject to availability, to register to attend email [email protected]

Winner’s Obligations

The winners must agree that SBID has the rights to use the submission in any publication, including its website(s), marketing material, affiliated trade magazines and press.

  1. The winner will be asked for and must present quality images of the winning project, defined as 300 dpi
  2. The winner must provide a publication-quality headshot and company logo
  3. The winner must be available for interview in October 2020
  4. The winning project may be displayed at events and trade shows

Accuracy and Copyrights

Information provided on the official entry form may appear in any publication of SBID’s choice and on the SBID website.

SBID is not responsible for incorrect information provided on entry forms that misrepresents the copyright of original ownership of ideas. SBID assumes that all entries are original and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted there-in. SBID is not liable for violations of any third-party rights, including, but not limited to, claims of copyright, trademark, patent infringement, defamation, trade secrets, or trade dress on the part of the entrant.

SBID assumes that all images provided with entries are free of any third-party rights. The entrant may submit images that are works for hire for an employer only if entrant has secured written permission for the submitted image(s) to appear in any publication of SBID’s choice and the SBID website.

SBID reserves the right to move the received entries into a different category.

By entering this competition you agree to abide by these rules and you warrant and represent that (i) your entry is your original work, (ii) you have sufficient rights to the material you are submitting, (iii) these rights have been legally obtained and created, and (iv) publication of the material via various media will not infringe on any third party rights, including without limitation contractual rights, intellectual property rights, publicity and privacy rights, and rights against libel, defamation, and slander.

By entering this competition and accepting an Award, you grant SBID the right to edit, publish, promote, and otherwise use your entry and either as submitted or in edited form without further permission, notice, or compensation, including but not limited to any publication and the SBID website and on the World Wide Web. SBID reserves the right to forward the entrant’s details onto Awards sponsors and partners. SBID reserves the right to change the T&C’s at any time without further notice.
