Launched in 2017, the Master of Design award is bestowed on a practitioner who has contributed greatly to the interior design industry.
Chris Godfrey is an award-winning British Architect and designer with over 22 years’ experience producing highly-considered spaces. Educated at the Glasgow School of Art, Chris first started his professional career as an Architect with McDowell + Benedetti and then with Seth Stein Architects; from where he developed his passion for residential design.
Chris set up his first studio, Scape Architects in 2000 which achieved international acclaim and lead to him joining the residential design studio, ‘1508 London’ as the founding Creative Director.
In 2014, Chris established HBA Residential in London, the boutique and signature division of Hirsch Bedner Associates. Now based in primarily Singapore as Global Principal, Chris continues to apply his principles and cultivates his holistic design approach; combining Architecture and Interior Design to create beautifully conceived and exquisitely delivered residences for a global clientele who appreciate the value of design excellence.
Chris retains a passion for education in design and has also lectured in Interior and Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Art in London and Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore. He also recently helped establish an outpost for the RIBA in Singapore.
