Design Practice Location:
Claridge’s in Mayfair, founded in 1812, epitomises elegance. With its illustrious history, Claridge’s speaks of iconic, timeless luxury, glamour and sophistication. This project is the renovation of a Claridge’s one-bedroom suite. At 1,080 square foot, the suite includes a private hallway, living room, bedroom with ensuite bathroom, dressing room and a guest bathroom. The brief is to design a contemporary suite inspired by the hotel’s rich history and unique identity. As London’s most prestigious hotel, Claridge’s knows its guests; this intuition is translated to create a serene, luxurious, and functional space with understated elegance. Spatial reconfiguration, the interweaving Art Déco materiality and motifs, and distilling elements unique to Claridge’s, culminates into a contemporary luxurious suite that maintains subtle continuity to Claridge’s rich heritage. Thoughtful attention to detail, abounds with historical references, is evident throughout. All these details echo the personal touches the guests receive, conveying a coherent experience.
