Design Practice Location:
Drayton Manor is a Grade II listed Georgian home in Somerset, set in 7.5 acres of picturesque gardens, and is comprised of four bedrooms in the main house and five in the two cottages. It has been extensively renovated, reconfigured and refurbished by the owner, the designer Melanie Hall, to the highest standards and in an ultra-modern style. Hall sought to respect the inherent characteristics of this lauded 19th-century property, while injecting her own design ethos to ‘Respect the past, welcome the future and have fun in the process!’ This developed from the designer’s love of great modernist and iconic architectural works of the past, combined with a passion for innovation of the future, all fuelled with a sense of humour. Drayton Manor has ultimately been transformed into a seamless, spacious four-bedroom home for 21st-century family living, while saluting its history.
