Design Practice Location:
The design narrative begins with a tale of two souls bound together through time; timeless yet modern. The hotel and serviced apartments signify two Turkish sisters –one who lived in New York City, the other in Paris. These two cities are long-standing twin pillars of style and set the global standard for high design. When the sisters returned to their native country of Istanbul they desired to merge their fresh perspectives and deliver one harmonious design concept. To embody this old tale, the design team connected the Fairmont Quasar lobby and reception areas with a converging catwalk. Peacock’s Alley is the nickname applied to the extended ‘runway’, designed with the notion of ‘sophistication-meets-edginess’ not to mention its symbolism of two worlds, two sisters, and Istanbul as the platform.
