Grand Gateway 66 is a flagship mixed-use development located in Xijiahui, a bustling commercial area featuring cultural-historical legacies in Shanghai.

The rejuvenation project of the North Building retail complex, with its complete transformation creates a new landmark for the city. The project took inspiration from the place, embodying Shanghai culture. Its core values of diversification, innovation, and uniqueness, become the main principles of the scheme.

The design centred on the notion of “place making”, transforming the mall into a unique, experiential destination, a contemporary hub for modern lifestyle. A holistic approach was key to providing new identity and distinctiveness in each design aspect. The scheme privileges simplicity, rigour and balanced relationships to generate long lasting contemporary quality, while bespoke features emphasise authenticity and novelty.

New spatial configurations define a fluid, dynamic space, attractive features and enhanced spaciousness. Lobbies, as internal “Plazas”, offer engaging spaces for socialisation, participation and discovery.
