Design Practice Location:
Daniele Petteno Architecture Workshop designed these bathrooms/wetrooms within a full house remodelling and extension project. ‘Linear’ and ‘Square’ represent two different ways to respond with simple but comprehensive designs to most of the typical and critical matters regarding wetrooms. The two wetrooms are different in size, proportion, height, layout, design, colours and lighting choices, but close in their philosophies towards how voids and elements are combined, their practicality and minimalistic design. ‘Linear’ is a bathroom without natural light and ventilation, very long and narrow, and where the challenge has been to make it pleasant and welcoming, organising all the required sanitaryware and functions in a linear way. ‘Square’ is an almost cubic bathroom with plenty of natural light, where the challenge has been to keep it simple and use the square plan in a spacious but optimised way, and in fluent continuity with the adjacent bedroom.
