Design Practice Location:
The Lygon Arms Hotel is steeped in history. With each new era, the architecture has provided a nod to its’ respective time. Anita Rosato Interior Design was appointed to re-establish the property as the best coaching inn in the UK and create a synergy between the many differing architectural styles. The brief was to modernise and appeal to a wide audience of travellers, as well as the discerning local market.
The various public spaces have been individualised, yet they now each belong to the whole– very English with a definite sense of place. Layered onto this architectural canvas is a rich simple palette of deep blues, honey tone tans of saddle leather and emerald green applied in the furnishings. While the feel is unashamedly traditional, with Persian rugs, bronze lamps and authentic gilt-framed paintings, it is also fresh, young, cosmopolitan and quirky. Contemporary country chic in an exceedingly old building.
