National Museum of Qatar

This spring, the highly anticipated National Museum of Qatar in Doha opened its doors to the public. The ‘Desert Rose’, designed by award-winning French Atelier Jean Nouvel, celebrates the rich Qatar history, its heritage and culture through an immersive museum experience. Together, OPERA Amsterdam and Studio Louter developed the concept and design for the permanent family exhibits. Alongside the 1.5 kilometre-long meandering exhibition, six appealing areas for families with children were created. Sheltered spaces where families can rest and play, just like a lush riverbank. Here, the story of Qatar comes to life in an exciting, innovative and immersive environment that appeals to a multi-generational audience. Creating a mesmerising and yet educational space, the family exhibits are an unforgettable visitor experience.
