Design Practice Location:
The kitchen is arranged around a four-metre long island. Monolithic stone ceiling boxes visually balance this vast island and allow for ventilation as well as directional and ambient lighting. The textures of the leathered antique brown granite countertop and boxes are accentuated by the simplicity of the white island over which they float. White retractable pocket doors extend to hide their contrasting black interior and the kitchen’s appliances from view when the floor transitions from a place in which to entertain, to a space for the family to relax in. In the master bedroom a crystalline panelled taupe and chestnut bed contrasts with the softness of the multi-finned patinated sconces. A vista through to the bathroom frames the tub elevated on an Amani marble plinth in a room clad in floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble which steps back to surround a built-in mirrored vanity unit.
