Design Practice Location:
Morpheus London was commissioned to design and specify the interior architecture, base build, soft furnishings and accessories of a 5,400-square-foot, five-bedroom luxury chalet in 1850 Courchevel in the French Alps. Although designed to be spacious, the interior of The Lodge is a wealth of warmth, texture and earthiness. The architecture and hand-picked furniture pieces all speak the same language throughout; a contrast between polished and rough as if smooth ice is cracking, melting and revealing a hard surface beneath. This can be seen in the angular shapes of the bespoke pieces as well as the selection of luxurious finishes, which include bronzed and smoked glass, veneer oak, contemporary concrete, leather, rich faux fur and Italian two-tone marble. Everything is designed to integrate The Lodge and link it beautifully to its stunning mountain-top setting.
