Design Practice Location:
As part of the refurbishment of the Grade-II* listed, Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square, Goddard Littlefair redesigned all of the hotel’s 181 rooms and 18 suites. The scope included both the original Georgian listed building as well as a newer extension, so the rooms are spread over three locations: the new wing, the old block and the ‘Wee Hoose’. Two distinct design schemes were developed to align the quality of rooms, respecting the character of the original property while bringing individuality to the new. The overall design treatment of the guestrooms and suites centres on comfort, colour and character. No two rooms are the same, with striking artwork and playful accessories adding interest to every room and contributing to the pre-established feel of the scheme. The new rooms offer guests the perfect blend of heritage and modernity, designed to meet the demands of the modern traveller.
