The Surf Club is known for its original highly ornate, and authentically detailed and proportioned, Mediterranean Revival structure designed by Russell Pancoast in 1992. The main objective of Kobi Karp’s restorative design was to reposition the historic club and open it up to the public as a new hotel and private residences as a Four Seasons. The historic building was fully renovated and restored to its original design, with two new glass towers were incorporated alongside the historic building to the North and South, while the third tower was built in the centre of a historic courtyard. With such glamour embedded in its history, it was very important to maintain the luscious surroundings and preserve its story around the new project.
