IHG Indigo Venice Sant’Elena

The Indigo Venice Sant’Elena Hotel and the Biennale location are the most tranquil and uniquely green areas of Venice.  As the vaporetto (water bus) leaves the tourist route, the landscape changes. Arriving at the Sant’Elena Island with its abundant maritime pines and the Biennale gardens, one is struck by this uniquely calm area within the city. The hotel is a few steps away, its entrance is the beginning of a story connecting the reception, bar and restaurant to the garden beyond. This extended vista emphasizes the perspective of the building right through to the garden. The internal private courtyard garden is a secret oasis once a place of contemplation for what was a convent building. The public spaces have been transformed from a business hotel without identity to a strong, living lobby with a bar and restaurant that are spatially and visually connected, creating the heart and soul of the hotel.
